    New Girl

    Hello Everyone

I have been on a long journey and I feel like I am ready for the next step. I have gained about 15lbs and my strength has significantly improved however; I feel like I look solid and I really want more definition. I am 5 5 and weigh 137. I feel like that is a lot for my height, but I do not look like I weigh that much at all. I am trying really hard to know that it is just a number. I hope to gain insight on what I need to do and/ or take to improve my overall physique and gain more strength. I attached a photo... not sure if I should post one or not, but what can it hurt.

    Merry Christmas!

Welcome. I think a lot of women get caught up with the number on the scale when really it's the "look" your after. When the ladies at work are going on about the scale I tell them... If you looked like a model but the scale said 200lbs, would you really care? Just something to keep in mind when that negative voice gets going in your head.

Exactly! I have always been stuck on the "number" and it's hard getting away from that. When I started noticing the number going up, but my jeans were loose, I knew I was doing something right. Now I feel like I'm bulky and have no definition... I know it's under there somewhere lol

Welcome Morgan! Remember, muscle weighs more than fat so judge your progress more by the mirror, not the damn scale!

    Merry Xmas!

(we'll get you turned pink asap as well)

Doesn't look too bulky from the pic. Looks better then 90% of the population walking around in society today. Keep up the good work.

    Welcome to the forum!

From the pic u included u can't go by weight (few can),
You're too muscular for that. (In a very good way)
I've had a BMI of 30 myself (which is obese btw),
and while I could absolutely get leaner, I'm not what I'd call obese.

Glad to have you, and merry Xmas!

Welcome. Agree with all comments on weight. One of the coolest things about my girlfriend (was a gymnast and sprinter) is she looks good and she never knows what she weighs

With those shoulders and tiny waist I would def not give it another thought other than what your goals for even more evolvement are.

I'm a little late to the welcome party, but "Welcome!", Morgan. I see the results of some hard work and dedication in that photo. You don't give yourself enough credit because you have some solid muscle there!
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Thank you for all of the encouragement! I ended up taking another photo last night and I can see some minor changes in just a months time. Feels like my hard work is paying off.... if only my midsection and legs would start showing lol

I'll be damned if I'm not late as hell myself! You shoulder width to stomach ratio is ridiculous(as in good)
Agree with not worrying about that number(I was stuck on it for a while myself but don't even hop on the scale unless I feel like I'm losing weight(unexpectedly)...

    Welcome and keep kickin ass!

    Wow, I'm impressed!
You do a good job Morgan!
And never look at a scale until you get rid of that mindset.
