Thank you, I can understand that the first thread I created wasn't the best way to start off, It's a shame to start off on the wrong foot. But I can assure you that I have read through the forum rules and I am determinded to abide by them. I have realise alot of questions I had can be answered via reading old posts. This forum is full of research and experience. I'm enjoying exploring, I hope with time, peoples opinions of me can change.

Thank you Digismash! This forum certainly lives up to its name. It's like a body building archive.

No reason to beat yourself up.. There is an old saying "fools rush in". Just take your time and absorb the tons of info being thrown around. Not everyone understands everything so if & when you have questions feel free to ask..

There is plenty of questions I'd like to ask but I believe that the PM capability isn't avalible untill I reach atleast 25 post, which is the same. But the rules are there for a reason, . Thank you FuzzyPeaches, I appreciate your reply and I shall look forward to 'picking your brains' very soon!

Orinigally from Essex but I have been in Fl for a long time now. I attended UCF which is in Orlando and never left, so I now call Orlando home. Apart from immediate family most of my relatives still live across the pond so I visit often but have yet to go to Yshire.

Well, it sounds asthough you enjoy it there so fair play to you. I'd love to emigrate to the states and get out of Britain. I wouldn't miss it one bit!

HA! Sunshine? The rainfall here is enough to fill half of Europe! Even with the weather and all, I still would take any oppertunity I could get to emigrate, but even when your classed as a 'Skilled tradesman' its almost impossible to claim residence or even get a tempory green card. I envy your parents quite alot.

I'm not 100% on how the story goes but I do know it took several years, possibly as long as 8, before they could come into the country. My mother never took up citizenship so she is just a legal resident, everyone else is a citizen of the US now.

We had to renounce the crown.. Seriously! Truth be told I do like to go and visit the UK, after all it is home. Living here though is phenominal. Do you know anyone who lives here? You could always get a sponsor and move over..

Yes I've tried for a few sponsors but I didn't have no luck. I suppose I could harder now. It's something I think about ever now and then. Yes I have plenty of friends scattered over the US! . Do you keep in touch with anyone back here? Or is pretty much everyone in the States?

Yeah, of course I still keep in touch with those who remain in the UK. I visit about every 3 yrs, last visit was back in 06 so I'm overdue. You say you are a tradesman, electrical or something else? Other than friends do you have any contacts over here, like family? Reason I ask is that family sponsorship is a piece of cake, we looked into it for our cousins. Who now live here in Fl, so I know the process very well.

As far as I'm aware, the neatest family to America would be Canada . I'm 99% sure we don't have any family in the states. Yes your right about the tradesman thing; I'm a plumbing and heating engineer. Wow your cousins are lucky!

Canada is not half bad, I visited a good friend in Vancouver and I was amazed at how beautiful BC was. Too bad the weather is what it is up there or else I would consider it. Anyways HVAC is a profitable trade to be in, some high school friends do it and have been for some time now and make more money than I think they should. Good for them though, personally I went the university route and am now considering grad school cuz economy suxs so bad right now I would not be making what I'm worth anyways. Plus it's an investment in the future, I got a BS in engineering and if I get a masters pay just about doubles. Only bad thing is... So would my debt...

Ouch that sounds pretty harsh! I have alot of friends that went through university and they now have huge student debts. The worse part for some of them is they quit after the 2nd year or something. ofcourse they still have to pay too because they dropped out. I'm glad I took the route I did. I took 4 years to get fully qualified, but it's been well worth it so far. Engineering sounds good, a very solid job when you have the work.
