Best ever is a tough call, but I would have to say LT as well.
Best in the game now is DEXTER COAKLEY

LMAO, man you are a damn Cowboy fan....Wow, I wouldn't say all that, it would be a toss up on that one...Now....I would have to say Ray Lewis, with Urlacher running a close 2nd. But mark my words, Arrington reminds me alot of a young LT it is scary.....
COAKLEY, CRIPES MAN, GET REAL

Ray Lewis is overated, he is very good but without that fluke Superbowl win his name would be just another roster fill, and Urlacher is very promising, but I have to see somemore years out of him.
Coakley is the man. That boy can run faster than most CB's and can deliver a hit that will leave your eyes popped out of your head. Consistancy

Urlacher is in his 3rd season this year and this is Coakleys 6th
Secondly, consistency, ok how about RAY RAY leading the NFL in tackles the last 4 years consistent, sounds very consistent to me.
Quit being biased, Coakley boy, lol
1. His play time compared to other LB in the league(The cowboys for instance switch out LBs constantly giving stars like Coakley less time and chances)
2. The time of posession. Baltimore's Offense is so shitty, the D is on the field 3/4 of the time, of course he's making tackles.
Bottom line, you put Lewis on a successfull team that has an all around good defense with players that can contend with his skills in making tackles and an offense that can hold on to the ball for more than 10 min. of the game, you'll see that lead he holds on to drop faster than a QB going down after one of Coakleys sacks.

Bill Romanowski....I just like his level of controlled insanity.
As for the Lewis/Urlacher/Coakley debate....here are some stats(current):
Lewis(7th year)--94 games, 725 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 12 INT, 0 TD's, 3 forced fumbles, 4 fumbles recovered
Coakley(6th year)-81 games, 342 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 9 INT, 5 TD's, 3 forced fumbles, 4 fumbles recovered
Urlacher(3rd year)--34 games, 206 tackles, 16 sacks, 5 INT, 2 TD's, 2 forced fumbles, 4 fumbles recovered
That should end that debate
As for Derrick Brooks(8th year)--114 games, 707 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 14 INT, 2 TD, 15 forced fumbles, 3 fumbles recovered
D.B.'s stats make a strong argument among current LB'sLast edited by latman49; 09-16-2002 at 10:14 PM.

You're a homer, Pheedno. I applaud your dedication, through thin and thin and thin and thin...

my picks
Best linebackers in the game..
Rey Lewis...In a way he is a blackeye to football, but in another way he is what football needed....rather you a fan or not, you have to love the way he gets the job done..hell, three games 42 tackles?
LaVar Arrington 6'3 246 of kick ass, enough said, would get my vote for the best in the game today and with the help of Jeremiah Trotter from the eagles this D will be unbeatable..
Zach Thomas has been underrated if you ask me, he is damn good..yet you dont hear him as much as a rey lewis enough tho he has done the same thing over the years other then get that ring and superbowl mvp to his name....
Brain Urlacher is my best tho, he isnt the biggest linebacker but when it comes to knowing where to be and heart he is the best in the game...
