    The only reason....

your calves felt like that is because they are not conditioned. Now you may be one of those guys with God given calves but what about definition. Also, like I have stated in this thread already. If your calves are reacting negatively to heavy weights then you need to start at a slower pace and work your way up. This is done by using your own body weight. What I like to call conditioning. Runners dont start out running 26 mile marithon's. Think about it!!!

I really need to get some proteine or how ever you spell it. I keep getting hungry and eating junk food. My waist is at 33.5" right now. I don't know how, but it is. Last night was bad. I ate a half pound cheese burger, and four ice cream sandwiches, and a bowl of nacho cheese.
I'm doing roman chair 4 sets to failure every set, with twists the last rep. On the next day I'm doing reverse crunches 3 sets to failure and 3 sets of lying side crunches to failure. Cardio is walking once a week.
I have a love/hate relationship with my metabolism.

I have a guy at my gym on the same routine for 1 yr now. He is 23 yrs old and has gone from 195 to 225lbs and from 15" to 18" calves.

This is on every 10th rep.(standing calve raises with your own body weight 3 x 50)

About 3 exercises with a 10-12 rep scheme, then finish them off with bodyweight calf raises in the manner described above.
