    Question Working Abs Once a Week or More?

    Anybody out there have any positive results from working abs like any other body part, i.e. heavy weights/low reps once a week as opposed to hi reps/every day (or almost every day)?

    I ask because this guy at my gym does abs once a week just like I might do my chest and he has an amazing pack (yes, yes, I know diet accounts for most of this but he has a better mid-section than 90% of the guys doing endless reps/sets).

    I do abs on average 2-3 times a week. Now if I miss several days without doing them, I start to lose hardness. I'm just weird to begin with.

    ditto for me

    It just all depends, some people never do abs and have rippling 6 packs

    Depends on your genetics and BF. I do mine 2 or 3 times a week.

    I think they only should be done once a week. Because if you think about it, when your working out other muscle groups you are using your abs. By doing them 2, 3, 4 times a week you are just overtraing them IMO.

    i agree with twice a week. I do them twice a week and still can't see them.

    My best friend works abs, whenever he feels like it which is seldom and he can always see his.

    It's all genetices and bf. Hell I'm excited....I can see my abs again, I haven't been able to see 'em since about '98! LOL

    i use to train abs everyday at the beginning but once they were visable
    then after that i only do them 2-3 times a week

    abs can be trained every day just like your calves...there is no such thing as overtraining them IMO if switch your routine often enough.
