Acne Scars??

I have numerous scars on my shoulders and back from acne...cycle related. I am going to go see a dermatologist here soon. What procedures do they use to remove the scars? How long does the healing process last?

not sure if accutane would work on the back i know it works wonders on the face and actually gets rid of scars. It is a pill you ingest.

I don't think you have any options other than a chemical peel...

They do laser surgery for acne scars......at least thats what I'm ooking into. I am probably going to get it later on, once I graduate, get a job and can afford the operation........health insurance won't cover 'cosmetic procedures.'

Lazer surgery also gets rid of acne too, so its a double wammy. But to make the effects of the surgery permanant you have to do it several times. Once the scars are gone you don't have to come back, but that depends on how deep the scarrinng goes...... if you are doing it to permanantly get rid of acne like I am, then you have to keep coming back for procedures every so often.
