Ashleigh... i like that spelling alot.
Bambi is nice but it sounds a little too stripper-ish.

adamw1, I know you have it wired-- putting all this effort into choosing a name for your child. A name is identity and POWER. On a lighter side-- paint your house WHITE. That way she can tell all her pre-school friends she lives in the white house... Then when they go home and ask to come over and play with your daughter they'll ask, "Mommy, can I go play with adamw1's daughter ---------. You know, she's the one that lives in the white house." My daughter used to get such fun around adults saying, "I live in the white house." She was clueless as to how come she got so much attention from american adults...

Really tho.. what is your ethinicity? Cus you can name her a name of power or beauty outside your usual circle of names... like Nfetari (It's african... pronounced Neh-feh-tah-ri).I'd stay away from mainstream names... one of the the most annoying things in life is to be out shopping or hanging and soemone shouts 'Hey Jack' and you realise that 10 others guys head's turn to answer.
So:
1.) don't name her what's popular there.
2.) don't give her something she can't spell til she's 10
3.) don't give her a name that she'll be ashamed of (like bubba.. kids can be cruel)

Glad they both made it through safely after such an ordeal.
