Frats- folks with limited socialskills that routinely get their asses kicked by others attending the respective university.

If you are going to do it go sigma alpha epsilon, kappa alpha, or sigma chi. those are the best for your money.

Yes, I would like to pay money to hang out with you and get hazed! I would also like to go through four months of looking like a complete and total idiot to the extent that others on campus ask themselves how I even got into this university.
I guess if that's your thing then more power to ya, but I do just fine without one.

Frats are a rip, everyone pretty much summed it up...I was driving past an ATO house and stopped to chat with some girls that were walking that 1 of my buddies knew. These asshole frat guys started throwing beer bottles at my truck. They probably couldn't see the other 2 guys in the crew cab. The 4 of us all bailed out and beat the hell out of 6 of them, the others ran before we could grab them...No match for a bunch of 250 lb football and NHB guys....

frats are for people who need to make friends and dont mind paying $$$ for it. Move to a college where u know a few people, so u can network.

It ALL depends bro. I have a TON of friends and certainly dont need to PAY for them. But, what you do pay for is the connections that you get. I am a Delta Sig. I commuted if that tells you anything. But, the people that I have met, that NEEDED TO PAY to get friends, were the geeks and dorks that have 7 figure jobs that can help me out, if you know what I mean. Bottom line is this, if you play your cards right and use ALL your resources, you can have a lot of fun, meet a lot of good friends, get laid along the way, and still keep your dignity and heart. Just because you are in a frat, does NOT mean that you are a sellout or NEED the bought friends. Just be you. And like Vette said I agree, it all depends on the campus and the frat. Our frat ruled campus so it was sweet and Greek life was the thing to be.
F.Y.I. I didnt pay a nickle to be in my frat. Alot of OTHERS paid, but when they said I had too, I walked. if they want you, they find a way to pay for you. Just a heads up.

Like the others said... depends on the University. I was in a frat in college and had the best time in my life!! Made friends that I still talk to today. I paid a total of $200 to join. I'm sure you guys can afford that. It was awesome.. 75 guys living in a f/n huge house on campus throwing parties of biblical proportions. 75 guys 200 girls all getting drunk as hell... sororities, greek week, formals, booze cruises, etc... AWESOME.
