It is written by an american journalist who was living in germany and witnessed first hand the rise of Hitler. After the war ended millions of captured nazi documents were released to some of the allies. The author was privy to these documents. Everything in this book is taken from the authors first hand experience with the nazis, and from the nazis themselves. Everything he writes is documented by the nazis and he gives sources. So to answer your question it is most definitely NOT a hollywood type book, it is as pure truth as any book can ever get.
