Yes Ecclesiastes 9:5 says something to that effect but you have to understand the mood of the writer when he wrote that book. Plus, you can't take one passage from the bible and build theology on one verse. Thats why we use all the verses in the bible to enterpret itself. Scripture to enterpret scripture my brotha......

oh of course.. but like another scripture says.. if we return to dust.. im pretty sure dust isnt a living organism!

So I am not sure what you are saying. You believe when we die we turn to dust or just our physical bodies turn to dust? Because each one of us is a spirit being living in a physical body. Our spirit lives on forever in one place or another, yes?
