i used to be all into that back in high school, i still like to listen to old metallica, but you wont catch me listening to pantera or anything like that anymore.

ive transformed a majority of my friends with my mixes, most people have a warped view of what trance is, and what the better side of it.

It falls in the same category, electronica, but it's style is completely different. Techno is absolute trash if you ask me.

i wasnt referring to you mr i sell fake ids out of my dorm room and i dont know my own rights so i let them just walk in and book me for steroid and marijuana use.

Whats the difference between techno and trance though? I just call it all techno

What most people are referring to as "Techno" is Electronica. Rap is part of "Electronica" since the beats are usually made using synthetizers and sampelrs. Trance is kind of ambiant or melodic. House is what you hear in the clubs that just repeats over and over again (Which sucks IMO). Techno is really f*cked up. Drum beats and usually not much melody going on. More like sounds coming and going... Don't know how to describe it. Techno is pretty obscure.
