I worked as an armoured guard for 3 years. We got robbed more times than hit the news believe me. Best way to rob an armoured car is sneak up on the guard. That's what happened every time. Most time guards are on quota and have to hit each stop at a certain time and finish by a certain time by the end of the day. They wont pay attention to who's around the truck and rush in and out of each stop. I actually had a guy I pulled a gun on that walked right up the back door while it was open and stick his head in to see what it looked like. I hadn't noticed until he yelled out OMG that's a lot of money.

I was at the side door loading up bricks of coin on a dolly and I rushed to the back unholstered my gun and yelled to get back. I was in such a rush the guy could have had me. These armoured cars services dont pay for **** and could care less about safety. They rush us along and literally fine or fire us for lacking behind despite as many guards that get shot/killed and robbed. The last month I was working. 3 armoured cars were robbed at gun point. Two of the cars the jumper or the guy that get's in out of the back was shot to death. The 3rd car the jumper and driver actually returned fire and killed 3 suspects.

The armoured service had the audacity to put me on these runs double time after everyone began quiting. I asked for a bullet proof vest and a raise. They laughed and said no while they actually cut our pay instead. I was getting 10.50 an hour and after the 3 incidents the lowered our pay to 9 dollars.

I quit that month.

every armour truck in the united states has to be federaly inspected and pass federal tests for approval. You cant see the approval stickers but each truck has one on the dash boards from year to year. Part of the federal approval is they have to be bomb proof. You wont get into an armour truck that easily with explosives despite what the movies show how easy it is.

the spalling from the rpg round will set the vehicle on fire and destroy the money.

then you should know that the materials used in these armoured vehicles and you should also know that the plasma of the copper lining would end up on the inside of the truck and set everything on fire.

i'm not trying to flame or anything, but i don't agree. when you mention a cone, you are referring to a conical shaped charge. you would have to use a linear shaped charged because a small hole in the armor wouldn't help with gaining entry. the material used for the cone or channel does matter, but copper is not necessarily the best material. i have used glass-lined charges and they are very effective
