I assure you, as fake as they may appear, the pictures i have posted are real. This is the deadliest reef break in the known world.

A break is a section where a waves breaks. depends on how the reef is set-up there can be many breaks at the same beach.

I'm the same way though, I take people from Atlanta back home with me and I'm like, how in the hell could you not know what corn is, or an irrigation system, or anything else really common to me.

Yes, these are real pics of a wave about a mile or so out from the France coastline at a place named Belharra Reef.

NSA, how do you know so much about waves living in NJ...not exactly the surfing capitol? (BTW, I am not flamining you...you are just very knowledgeable about waves).
Anyway, i cannot wait for the day when I can visit Tahiti and WATCH that sh*t from the shore....that water is so pure and blue...amazing. Nice post you all!

I surf, and i like to know alot about the things i do. Plus im fascinated by the freaky things in sports. BTW, New jersey isn't as bad as most people think in terms of waves. We get great waves during the winter, not comparable to hawaii or other parts of the world. But i've seen 15-20 waves in jersey(in the winter), only ridden up to about 12-14 feet myself.

Very nice! I too am fascinated with the waves and ocean. I live a stones throw away from the water (In so cali)...i think it is the best place to live...IMO.
12-14 is huge bro...nice work. Most of the time we get ankle slappers at my beach....not bad wavfes...very ridable...just not huge...just last week we had 8 footers which is pretty darn big for So Cal.

In jersey during the summer its usually either flat or 1-2 foot. It's very weak and fickle during the summer here.

I used to surf during the winter before college. Best waves ever, coldest waves ever. I have a 5/4 full suit with boots, gloves and a hood. A very good wet suit, covering my entire body except for a small portion of my face. Unfortunately every time you duck dive a wave you flush a bunch of freezing water into your wet suit. So every time you have a giant wave coming at you, you don't want to duck dive as deep as you should and end up getting fugged up by the breaking wave and end up freezing your nuts off anyway.
