Could be worse though. At least the guy is self aware and knows he needs some sort of help. Better to be checking himself in than having to be escorted in in a straight jacket.

Seems like a perfect PR stunt to me.
He got through 5 shows for season 3 then bails...and has all these "friends with no names" giving up there account of what he is going through?
"Freaked out", "drugs", "difference of opinion w/comendy central" "pushing the racial envelope"
Mnnnn? Seems like he is putting together some great material to play off of to me...and even if he isnt, he can play off it anyway and nobody will be the wiser.
Dave is a genius. I believe he going to out do himself this time. He's winding up w/a 50,000,000 swing IMO.

I've been pretty stressed as well lately... felt like I needed to get away for a while. I've been trying to choose... Relax on a beach in Mexico, or check-in to a loony bin in S. Africa.... hmmm.... I suppose either one is good.

Its about the keesh, he was upset that he barely made any profit off of the first season dvd it made over 60 million in sales. Comedy central was not going to share it with him. Know he is basically seeing who else would be interested in him.

Two weeks after going AWOL from his Comedy Central show, comedian Dave Chappelle has finally spoken out about his flight to South Africa. Denying that he is in a mental health facility or that he is on drugs, Chappelle chalked his disappearance up to a combination of stress, creative angst over the ideas for his show, and the fact that he's sometimes a "difficult dude."
