help me pick a new car
hey everyone just thought i'd post this here and see what you had to say. im looking at getting a new used car soon and wanted to get some suggestions. i have $8k tops and want something sporty but reliable. i was thinking a ford contour SVT. can get one with about 50k miles for around 7-8k. any other suggestions on a nice car for around this price? i want it to last for a few years too. thanks, look forward to your responses!

Go for best gas mileage.

I'd definetly consider gas mileage above all else. Then comfort and finally performance.
The way the price of gas is going (UP!!!!) it's looking like the mid-80's fuel crisis all over again...

Im a Heavy Duty Diesel mechanic, and from my expeirences in life, ive always had a 4cyl honda (crx. prelude) and a truck ( 1998 silverado ext cab long box 4x4)
gas up here is 1.05 a litre? fawk canada!
any honda , toyota, nissan, have good gas mileage ,comfort and preformance. and most of them have a good half life if u dont buy a lemon.
if u need more suggestions email me @ [email protected] id be happy to help ya out.

I got a chevy Cavalier and am hapyp with it... its about as small as I am willing to drive, has OK gas mileage and it's an American car (I won't buy an import... got to keep what few jobs we have left here)

Just don't get a damm SMART!
They may have awesome gas mileage (well actually diesel/mileage) but they cost so much you'll never make up the savings in fuel...
And thats besides they're UGLY!
