Wont start up (is it power problem)
My other computer wont start up. I had a look at the power pack in the tower and all conections are as they should be.
When I turn the power on from the socket the fan in the power pachk goes to start up but stops. The power light is on indicating that the tower is recieving power.
Can anyone help me out here please?

Indicates that the standby part of the Power Supply is working OK. The flick of the fan indicates it is trying to start, but closes down for some reason.
I'm inclined to think the problem is with the PSU, perhaps try another one and see if the computer does fire up. Not really sure what else it could be unless the mother board itself has gone, but it is still capable of proving enough power to run the Memory Led light.

YEAH, i was thinking i cud remove the power pack out of my working PC and try it, then if that works I can just replace it. If the whole thing is fuked I will be able to sell it as parts and i got it for free anyway.

on the power supply there should be a little switch... like a little red switch that has the volts on it.
find that....leave it.
unplug the machine and hold the power button in for about 15 seconds...release it and do it again with the plug out still to drain the residual power.
swith the voltage selector back and forth a few times and put it back to where it was initially
replug and reboot.
