Dude, the "pop shit" DJ's you are listing redefined Trance and Techno. Paul Oakenfold, The Chemical Brothers, Paul Van Dyk, etc, as "upbeat" as their music may be, is still some of the greatest electronic music ever created.

Your dark side list is still kick ass too, I won't deny that Aphex Twin, DJ Rush, etc are great, but you're leaning more towards industrial house music rather than techno/rave music. It's like apples and oranges...

If you like Aphex Twin, you should check out The Crystal Method or DJ Darkzone, both real good as well, a little more powerful beats and minor melodies...

tiesto was ranked #1 in the world btw, but i love DJ Anthony Acid who use to mix with Scribbles back in the day cause i lived with him for a few months in a halfway house, he hasnt made any new shit recently though cause hes still locked up. I love all techno, trance, rave, dance and i dont care who makes it as long as the mix is good.

Techno is an awful music. Ive been listening to electronica for about 8 years now. Trance and progressive house and the occassional psy or ambient are the only good genres.

    i do like aphex twin

in my younger day's i used to listen to gabba and hardcore

Originated in Holland, gabba means “buddy” in Dutch. Gabba is Dutch, four-beat hardcore. Hard as hell and fast, fast, fast, featuring distorted 240 beats per minute kick drums and big bass drum sounds. Its popularity has waned in recent years but it is still popular in Holland Belgium
