Can someone tell me the meaning of this song?
I got in a huge fight with my fiance last night. And usually after that happens I ignore her for like 3 days. She called about 3 times today, and I ignored it. But she left this American song on my voicemail.
I am trying to figure out what the hell this song means?
Any ideas?
I typed the lyrics on GOOGLE and found out the song is - Behind Blue Eyes - The Who.
No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes
No one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies
But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you
No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through
But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool
If I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
If I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat
No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

Dude, she is hurting and it's your fault, or shall I say she is blaming yoiu for some stupid shit that you did or didn't do. Chick drama, typical crap. talk it out, if you guys can't communicate now, you got no reason to get married.
Good song tho.

It means that she is hurting, and blaming me for it?

This is such a great song. In a nutshell, he is cursed with the label of being an evil person, which he is...not many of us try to put ourselves in the shoes of bad people to sympathize with them, hence the lyric "no one knows what it's like". He is defending himself to a degree, saying he does have still good within him "but my dreams they aren't as empty as my conscience seems to be".
He blames the world "you" for his curse, as do most evil people, but he is still willing to accept help from those who are willing to offer it. The irony of the song is who wants to help the bad man? How can you help someone if you have no idea what it's like to be in their shoes? He is doomed.
Very good song from a very good band. How this song is relevent to a fight between you two I don't know...maybe she feels like it's her fault and she wants you to understand what she's going through....

I was just confused if she was singing the song about herself or about me.

If you want to stay with her my best advice is to kiss her ass. Give her some nice flowers, chocolate, whatever. Say you're sorry even if you didn't do anything.
If you don't want to stay with her you have a perfect exit strategy. She might even give you some sex before you leave, to try to keep you.

I think it means grab a 40 ounce and get at it doggystyle with a fat spliff in your mouth, huge mirrors, disco lights, and incense.
Then again, I just skimmed it over.

But this girl is weird, if you are nice to her, she acts like a moron. If you are mean to her, she treats you like a king.
I might use the exit strategy, I think I am too young to handle women seriously. And we dont have sex till marriage.

Okay? So she listens to Limp Bizkit for guidance, spiritual aid, awakening and to send you unsubliminal messages?
You do know that Mr. Durst abuses illicit substances and Im not talking about steroids ?

it means your not paying attention to her and not making her feel special - she's feeling emptyness in the relationship
but seriously, i would advise you to start taking her to do fun stuff (like go rock climbing, hiking at exotic places etc.), be more intimate with her, make her feel special and stuff
good luck brutha

Well, when a couple is still at a "song" stage...as in "that is our song", "that is our break-up song" or that is our "summer song" or the "song I dedicated to you on 95.6"....there is still a great deal of maturing to do! Give her a few more ice-cream season...things will get better.

Besides...when was the last time I heard of any songs being used as flirting/break-up/invites-to-hump/I am-pissed-at-you message...oh yeah, Talk Dirty to Me, Poison..but then again, I was 15!

usually when we relate to songs it's because we relate to what the artist is trying to articulate

Why don't you ask her why she left that song, instead of asking the internet.
Sure fire plan if you ask me. It usually works real well... the communication thing. If it bugs you that much, just remember that action cures fear.

You should send her back David Banner's "Play", the unedited version. She will know how much you love her then....Let me see you drip sweat!
