New World Record Bench; 1008lbs
The guy just did it live over the IronMan Feed...
Stupidest thing ever. the guys benched it.. and it looked like he went a total distance of MAYBE 4 inches max... i dunno how thats really setting a record, but sure its a ridiculous amount of a weight, but so so lame.

I don't get it either.
On top of that they have some special carbon fiber space age 8 sizes too small "bench shirt" that they put on which makes you lift like 80% more. I know everyone gets to use the shirt, but really, what's the point of lifting with that type of shirt? Do it raw and see who is best raw........
Adding shirts, shoes, f*ckin' hydraulics/switches n shit just make the sport seem really whack.

bench shirts are used for safety, but in reality they help the guy lift ALOT more than he really could raw. Raw, i wouldnt be surprised if the guy could put more than 600 lbs

yea the sport is getting ridiculous with canvas suits and double denim shirts... I think single ply should be the max... that way you can still get the advantage of longevity and less injury in the sport, while still lifting heavy weights but not much more than if it were raw.

Those who just want to be powerlifters because they are nothing more than lazy bodybuilders, I hate that. They lift a little as an excuse to eat and get fat as hell, just to lift a bar 3-4 inches.
No thanks.

benching raw and benching w/ shirt are two tottally diff movements one incorps much more chest/pectoralis involvement while shirt is like ALL tri ..
i dunno i not a big fan of shirted lifting but if ur a raw benching and train for raw ur going to suck at shirted lifts and vice versa =/

Pretty soon they will have robotic shirts or some shit like that to lift the weight for them.
