    More Motorcycle Questions...

    Sup,

I gotz a '92 Ninja ZX6D. It's fairly big, naturally, being 600CC and I'm not that tall. When I'm sitting ON it, and sorta leaning forward (hands on bars), I can flat foot the bike. If i'm standing up straight, or even lean back just a tad bit, I can't flat foot it no more, just the balls of my feet.

Now I'm sorta worried what this will do to my riding (first year riding, first bike owned). What I was wondering, is there any way of lowering the bike/seat, in an affordable manner. I assume the seat can be lowered? I mean, like the actual seat itself, have it thinned out, or some padding removed from it. Is this doable? Cheap?

Also, I have heard some bikes actually get "lowered" and I'm not sure how this works, what is it? Suspension/shocks or whatever that get lowered? Can this be done with a 1992 Ninja ZX6D?

    Any help appreciated,
    Thnx.

I cant reach the ground on my 1000. Just wear a set of boot when you ride.

Some people will tell you to ower the rear shot and drop the frt tubes in the triple clamps. i dont advise that at all. When people to the they mess up the center of gravity of the bike and it handles like shit.

You can also buy a after market seat with a little less fome padding in it.

    Thnx for the advice.

How do you manage though if you can't reach the ground properly on your 1000? I mean, is it like me, just the balls of your feet? How does this affect you though, for example when you're on a slop/slant, and one side is a bit higher than the other or something. The ZX6 is pretty darn heavy, and even though I'm fairly strong, it's hard to keep it up, especially if I were to do it on one foot.

I have heard of short people, actually lean to one side, and then have one foot on the ground, flat footed, seems odd to me.

    Thnx,
    T.

i've got a 93 zx7 and im on the balls of my feet when i ride. ive been riding it for 6 years and ive never had a problem. when you come to a stop then lean to one side and put your other foot on the back brake. I dont recommend lowering the bike it will handle like shit. Just some advice from a fellow ninja rider.
