Nope, not me buddy.
I'm just into sculpting the body.
I don't really care how much weight I can throw around anymore or numbers.
But I do like to watch "Strongman" competitions.

Me either.......
I try to stay away from injury, wanna look like a sculpture, can't stand those who powerlift as an excuse to just be a fat ass (no offense to anyone here, but I know a few like this), etc.
Who cares how much you can lift when you can barely lift yourself out of a chair. Nothing impressive about that to me....

Im more into powerlifting than bodybuilding. Mostly because I gain strenght easier than I gain mass and beeing strong is fun as hell. I like to lift heavy with few reps

I Am not into powerliftin or strongman...But I do like to work moderattely heavy with realtively low rep (5-6). IT annoys me though when people come in teh gym and try to see how much weight I'm doing then try to throw it up too lol. This one guy at my gym who is like a thrid string saftey for the Texans football team has been challenging me to a 'bench-off' since I started lifting there in January. I don't flat barbell bench at all so he would prolly get me.
I think there is a balance between size/ strength and being cut. I love my size and it is pretty intimidating and keeps people from facking with me at bars/clubs (although I have been trying to cut to look better with my shirt off). Then I think of my homeboy who is like 180-190 and is strong as a bull, but his shoes always get stepped on at the club and people look back at him to see who's loafer they stepped on and pretty much chump him

i guess looks or strength come down to how you perceive your own masculinity, although i say i lift for myself id hope that my characteristics would win out in the modern day world to appeal to a potential mate, long gone are the days when id need to throw guys over my shoulder or club some bison to get a women but at least i look like i could

ya not all, but too many are all show and no go...banging out their cable curls and never doing things like bench cause they think its just going to cause injury...or guys that do reps with deadlifts...to work on their form, i believe jim wenzer had a name for them people..."pussies"
if i had a choice....ripped pussy...or strong lard ass....id rather just be in between the two
however, i eat more like a bodybuilder, but train as a powerlifter....and then tons of cardio. beinga bodybuilder would be counter intuitive to my lifestyle, and litterally i would get my ass kicked more
no offense to anyone, but many started all this including steroids ..to "get girls"..i may not have the hottest girls ever, but i do ok just being who i am and dont need to go to a superficial level. i realise some really do it for that reason alone...i suggest you seek help.

Back in 2001 i switch from bodybuilding to power lifting, heavy squats, deadlifts and bench press.
I have injured myself real bad since that time, i will never do this again, took some time to find a good competent person to follow me in my rehab but now its going well, if everything fine will start training again this summer, i am going for cuts and lower bodyfat.
