    bench press competition, need advice

hey guys, i will be doing a bench press competition coming up this saturday and i was wondering if anyone had some good advice that i could use to push the most weight, like preparation before it, i benched today and did 295x6 so im thinking i could do around 350-375 for 1, but im not too sure, anyways anyone have any good advice that could help me for the competition like what to eat the day before or any training tips for the rest of this week, i still have to train arms back shoulders legs this week so i am going to workout mon-thursday and take friday off then saturday is the comp. any help or advice would be awesome thanks in advance.

    good luck bud!

im assuming you get more than one attempt at pressing, so my advice is to do something that you know you can do and then go from there. start low and work up rather than starting heavy and failing

also i would make sure your shoulders and tri's arent worked any later than wednesday to make sure you have enough recovery time before saturday

and it also sucks because there are no weight classes it just goes pound for pound. theres some forumla they use and it goes by body weight, mind you im 18 yrs old and 215 so i think i might have an ok chance at placing the top 3 if i can put up 375

Try it at a powerlifting board. Several things to remember. Arch your back, pinch your shoulder blades together as much as you can. Before the lift..physch yourself up as much as you can...all that always helped me.
