Quick help please...who knows how to use footnotes?

I have a 5 page paper due tomorrow at 3pm...no big deal..I am remaining calm..but he wants us to use footnotes and I cant find how on my program to do this..

Here are the programs I have on my computer:

Wordperfect/perfect expert
Wordpad
Jarte

does anyone know a good link to download a program for free that would have the footnote option if these dont?

do you got that little menu dealy open on the right in wordperfect? i couldn't even change the line spacing without that

just find 'headers/footers' in your task bar in wordperfect and select footnotes... i think...

or try right-clicking where you want your number and see if the footnote option comes up, that should work.

thanks guys..I just got off the phone with my dad and he told me how..and ruhl without you saying that I wouldnt have found the line spacing ahha...I want to go back and forth for the footnotes...

you guys can feel free to change the subject now if you want
