I am friends with a couple of interracial marriages. They love each other and there kids... where's the problem ? I know where they came from (Lousiana) they can't show public display of affection...but down in Houston, I don't think it's too much of a problem.

I love dark girls, had a relationship with one and I miss her alot, she was the best and I just love that chocolate skin colour. She always felt bad about her skin colour and was afraid to tan. I'm from a different school. I love getting darker. I tan in the summer and will hit a tanning salon during the winter. The darker I am, the more I get hit on. She probably grew up around racist people and believed what they told her. That having dark skin is a bad thing.

Of course it can work. You have to understand that there will be complications, but love is a powerful force and love can overcome all manner of obstacles. Actual skin color is usually not as much of a big deal as cultural differences. I dated a very nice Black man once, and he was truly a gentleman, but his music drove me up a wall. There was no love involved... just a sexual thing mostly, so we parted amicably before his hip hop stuff drove me insane. OTOH I had a relationship years ago, when I still lived as a man, with a lovely your mixed race Creole girl... we determined that she was probably somewhere between 1/8 and 1/16th African ancestry. In Louisiana's past, it was common for mixed race people to claim a higher percentage of Caucasian descent, and often figuring out one's genetic heritage is very difficult. Anyway, she was more White than Black, in both appearance and culture. She favored Cajun, C&W, and Jazz music and mostly hung out with a White crowd. Her brother, OTOH, was into Zydeco, Rap, and Soul. He hung out with a mostly Black crowd. Her Mother was a perfect angel, and thought the sun rose on my rightr shoulder and set on the left... possibly a throwback to the days in Louisiana when one of mixed race always tried to "marry up" the color spectrum. But anyway, I often ate there at their house, and the food was more Creole or Cajun or Middle-American, while at one of her cousin's house, it was more Soul Food than anything else. Music, food, dress, and other cultural differences can be distracting, or even repugnant, or, sometimes, add a bit of spice to a relationship. It's all about you and yours, what you like, and what you can accept.

If you are willing to except the cultural differences then its the same thing as dating within your race.
