im pretty sure i got a letter telling me that i need to appear in court for jury duty, but for the life of me, i cant find the letter now... im not even sure if i got that letter. but my question is, do any of you know a web site or a phone number i could call to check if i am scheduled for this bullsh_t? i really dont want to have to pay the govt more of my hard earned roid money over stupid bullsh_t like this.

yea thats what im thinking, but they would probably fine me a few hundred dollars... god damn it, i dont want to give the court any more money. its bad enough they charged me 100 bucks for my seatbelt ticket. id fu_kin lose it if i got fined another hundred bucks

i just got done with that jury crap a couple weeks ago.. just call your county courthouse, they'll tell ya what you need...hey i got paid a whoppin 215$ for sittin there doin nothin for a week, and really it was actually somewhat interesting.. it beat bein in class..

argg jury duty is a waste of time. i sat in a room for 4hrs waiting from them to tell me they don't need me. you won't get fined if you don't show up. just say you never got the letter.

same here, although very soon i will be the defendant in a jury case, and it feels pretty shitty, so part of me would not wanna be on the jury, and put someone else through this. but, yes, it would be very interesting if it was a juicy case

I worked in a courthouse many moons ago and thats a sure way to get hauled in front of the judge for contempt of court.

We used to send all subpoenas (wether jury duty or for witnesses) be registered mail, or by bailif.

If he signed for this subpoena or the register for the letter, then he MUST be there. If he has a valid reason for not being there, then he has to call the court clerk's office with a darn good valid reason ahead of time.

Around here any correspondance from the court or clerks office requires a signature.

well, its all good. i called the court house and im not in the system for jury duty... so i guess im off the hook
