Any other METALheads around?
Just wondering if we have any other metalheads on the board. No offence here bros-but if you think disturbed and tool are metal, this thread need not apply to you. I play guitar and specialize in death/thrash-I'm starting to cut a demo on Sunday to submit to metal blade and century media. Here are some of my favorite METAL bands:
Nile
Deicide
Cannibal Corpse
Sepultura(with max)
Krisiun
Dark Funeral
Obituary
older Metallica
Death
Testament
Pig Destroyer
In Flames
Burzum
Morbid Angel
Dimmu Borgir
Angelcorpse
God dethroned
Defleshed
Crowbar
Pantera
Emperor
etc.......

Hell yeah-Dio rocks! Slayer is definitely up there too. Thanks for the encouragement-I think it would be pretty badass to be able to say I'm on the same label as Cannibal Corpse. The good thing about metal-especially the more extreme stuff-is that nobody really gives a shit about image or if they can sell you or not. It just comes down to talent and hard work-if you're stuff is good and you're willing to pay you're dues you'll get signed-

Yup Cannibal Corpse is the shit...I like the older stuff with the other singer though. Jason "Corpsegrinder", I cant remember if he is the new singer or the old?
Definitely Sepultura with Max...However the new band Max is with is pretty good too.
You pretty much have most of them listed, But you left out my fav Dying Fetus. I used to know a shit load of bands but it's been awhile. I know locally here they have a public broadcast radio station and they used to (dont know if they still do) on Tuesday nights at midnight that's all they play unedited Death Metal.
I've even got some Christian Death...go figure Mortification and Paramecium to name a couple however I saw mortification is now on Metal Blade records so I believe they are no longer Christian.

George "corpsegrinder" Fisher joined in 96' after Chris Barnes left. I prefer Barnes as well-his work on tomb of the mutilated was inhuman.

Cant forget about Cradle of Filth and/or a band called God Forbid. Both bands lay down so cool ass riffs and wicked harmony as well. The stuff Cradle of Filth does with their keyboards and guitars will blow anyone away. Dani Filth is like the reincarnation of Satan himself. God Forbid is the opposite they have a 275lbs rastafarian (think thats how you spell it) black guy for a lead singer and they shred. Oh and I almost forgot what about Venom, Carcass, Kreator, Judas Priest, Motorhead, and all those other European metal bands that nobody ever takes the time to mention but really pave the way for metal. But definately all the other bands kick maximum ass too though. ROCK ON ! ! !

I've seen both those bands live, and yes they both kill! God Forbid's frontman is very intimidating onstage to say the least. Cradle's live show is crazy. Thanks for all the encouragement guys-

Dio - His solo stuff is awesome, but he put out an album with Sabbath called "Mob Rules" that kicks ass from start to finish.
Pantera - Just kick ass heavy metal.
Slayer - One of the greatest metal bands that helped start it all.
Megadeth - Put out some great stuff in the early days. Gotta love Mustaine's voice.
Black Sabbath - Practially the gods of heavy metal. Like James Hetfield said, "In the 60's, when everyone else was singing out flowers and all that hippie shit, Sabbath was singing stuff about satan and witchcraft.
Hammerfall - An underappreciated metal band from Europe. Great sound, almost like Iron Maiden.
Iron Maiden - Songs about war, monsters and murderers, doesn't get any better than that.
DANZIG - All caps because he is my favorite. One of the greatest voices music has every seen in my opinion. Listen to Danzig I and II and you will know what I mean. He's a real badass too. Looks like he hits the iron pretty hard.

I can't believe nobody mentioned Black Label Society - Zakk Wyldes band...They really kick ass! Old school with a modern twist and Zakk is one shredding mofo!
Also the "new" Judas Priest with Ripper Owens as the lead singer also rock - they boys have been around for quite awhile but they still know how to make great metal!

Love metal. Disturbed is great and I have listen to them many times on the way to the gym to get mentally prepared.
