Whats your debt?
Whos in debt? I'm 22 and as of right now i'm doing pretty good.. i've only got about $700 to pay off on my credit card and $5,000 left on my bike.. Then i have other odds and ends i've gotta get/take care of.. Just tryin to get an idea of what "real world" debt is..

Well this weekend I blew 1500 at the casino. Now I'm back to zero. At least i signed the petition so i'm banned from ever entering a Missouri casino again, lol. I'm still fuked with the Kansas Indian casinos though!
Gambling is my worse debt!!
Other than that no debt for me!
Car is paid off.
College is paid off.
No credit card.
No kids.
No wifey.
NO STD's
I just paid off a $5000 dollar loan about 1 month ago.
Life is ok at the moment.Last edited by Smak; 05-15-2006 at 09:24 PM.

i have a boy who is 23 and is in debt like 170k.. well its not soo much debt as 120k is for his condo he just got but he got 50k behind because he has an obsession with buying a new car everymonth financing it and loses equity..

$358 on my Mastercard, (after I sell my car that is). Started some savings accounts as well though, and I got a little bit of money in there. So I could be debt free, but it boosts your credit score to have some debt and be making regular payments on it.

I had about $60k in CC debt and paid it all down over about a 3 year period.. I thought I was cured but no of course not and now I owe about 22k on CC.. Being self employed can do that as you need cash flow to buy equipment but I hope to pay them all off in the next 10 days with some stocks I am selling. I just mailed my final car payment today. So after that I have my house and ... oh yeah the new $200k SBA loan for a new business I got approved for yesterday..
I do not look at house debt, business loans and the like as true debt as you have to have a place to live (rent or own) and business loans will normally pay themselves back and you have to work so no worries.
Student loans take a while to pay ( I have a friend that owes about $100k). CC debt sucks worst of all. IMO.

I knew a guy who couldn't get a student loan (I don't know why) so he paid for his college with a credit card... I asked him his interest rate and he said 19% - what an idiot.

i got about 5500 in CC debt. but im gonna role it into a mortgage next year when i buy a condo. Its only 1.99% for the life of the balance and ING Direct gives me over 4% interest so i only pay the minimum on that ish!!!

I agree though... all of my debt is built around my life - house, 2 cars, education. I don't believe in not paying off each card every month. It's unfortunate to get to a point where you're just paying interest esp. if it could have been avoided.

I have roughly $2000 in credit card debt. I owe $6000 aprox on my car. No student loan, paid off school while I was going, have aprox another 1.5 years of school left for my BA. Hopefully I'll be approved for a mortgage next year.

Just my one credit card that keeps my credit score sailing... but I think I might just go pay the entire 3k next month and be done with it...
I don't count my SUV as a debt per se - I see it as an investment... I need transportation to work and make money - and I expect to take a nice return of some of the money I have spent on it when it sells...
I plan to buy a house soon - and that also is an investment to me... not a "debt"...
I'm 28...
