I think it was mainly because they wanted to beat the LS1, in the Camaro's, Trans Ams, and Firebirds, and keep up with/beat the C5 Vettes. The 99-01 Cobra's can keep up with non-vette LS1's except for the SS


What is the diff with the SS Camaro anyways, is it the LS6?

hmm i wonder isnt the ss a 350? and the cobra a 281? yes i do believe so lol
and a stock on stock race there with a N/A cobra and a SS the SS doesnt win by much if any! for being almost 100CI BIGGER!!!

i went down too...they said no its 1st come 1st serve..they said they had 15 people with $20-30g's cash to put down that tryed to get on a list and they said they think they are only getting 2 or 3 of them

sure there is... chevy owners were just buying corvette's since they were only 15k difference in price. So they killed the Fbody. It's a problem that happens when a company has more than 1 successful muscle car. But i suppose ford would never understand that :P

the vette is by far wayyy nicer then the camaro..the only camaros that i enjoy looking at are older i mean 67,68,.....69
the 80's GROSS, later 90's better but when you sit in it, its soooo uncomfortable..seats are sooo low dash is too high.

I hope that they are ready to pay close to 50 grand or more for a mustang. Believe me, I am a huge ford fan, but the look (4x4 ride height, vinyl stripes) and performance (roots blower, is a pig on the scale, and narrow rubber) of the Shelby and the dealer marked up pricetag? Thats getting dangerously deep into c6 territory. They better get the prices down.
