Cat is dead.
At 1:00am on thurday, I took my GF and her cat down to the vet. The cat was VERY sick, was having problems with his kidneys, and his bladder. He would have needed to have half of his penis amplitated, and kidney surgery, with not a very good chance of him surviving. There was a good chance that the problem would resurface even after surgery.
Because of all the pain he was in, he was put down.
So my GF had been pretty upset lately. I don't know how to feel. When he was alive, that cat drove me up the wall. Now with him gone I kinda miss the little bastard. I don't know why. I really hated the cat when he was alive.
Maybe it was because even though he was bad company, he was still company? Maybe it's guilt, that if I had known he was dieing, I wouold have taken him to the vet sooner, or atleast been more nice around him. Instead of ignoring him all the time, like I have been.
Has anyone ever had that, when someone (or something) they HATE, dies, and then they feel guilty or bad about it.

I kind of go through phases, where sometimes I feel so relieved that he's gone. How my clothes won't be covered in fur, and the appartment won't stink. How he won't wake me up at night for no reason.
Others, where I feel bad that I didn't treat him like he was my own pet. He was always my GF's cat. I would feed him if I had to, but I'd never brush him, or pet him. Everything like that was dependent on my GF. It was her job, because it was her cat. Maybe I should have accepted the cat more?

Feelings of remorse over your loss are normal C. Even if you don't really care for something it is very easy to become attached to it's presence, doesn't make you a bad, or "guilty" person, just means you are normal bro-

Soo anyway, after destroying some more shit one day, I said that's it lets take it to the pound. Long story short, when we left the pound, I really felt guilty and said let's go back and get it. We didn't even leave the parking lot yet..Went back in and they had already put the cat down.

My dog ( a beagle mix ) that I had since I was 19 had to be put down yesterday morning. She was in really bad shape, was blind, could barely hear, and her heart was giving out. She was having tiny seizures and shit, and man, no animal should have to live like that. It sucked having to see her go, but I'd rather her not live like that, that's no way for any animal to have to live. Hell, she may have been alive, but that's far from "living" if you ask me.

it sucks to lose a pet because they can become almost like family members. i've lost 2 dogs that i really loved and it was hard.

My dog is staying at my parents, because she's not allowed in the appartment. I'm looking into buying a home so I can have my dog back.

What bothers me, is that I do feel relived that the cat is gone. But now I feel guilty, like it's my fault that it had to suffer and die.
I hate to see animals (and people) suffer.

I agree that animals shouldn't suffer, but i've never been a fan of cats. Go get your dog back bro! Good luck!
