You'll need to do a training course, theres plenty of companies that do their own training or various colleges which do it. Prices vary a lot, between £50 and £400 pounds. The training lasts around 30 hours. Once you've done the training you will need to apply for an Security Industry Authority (SIA) badge which costs £190. You will have a criminal background check and the waiting list is around 6 weeks.

Training course for a bouncer? weird.

Usally, its the type of profession where you need to know someone.
And when I saw profession, plan on having another job and just using a doorman job as a side job for extra cash

training involves beating up skinny kids and throwing them through fire exits see how many you can do in 10 minutes.although some doormen are good most are complete assholes.

i work with some great doormen. i see alot of threads on here asking how to get involved. it couldnt be easier to get involved. just go down your local clubs and ask the doormen there. usually they will direct you to a management-type person, who will give you all the info and likely a job when you have your badge

In the UK there has been a few unfortunate incidents where bouncers have beaten unruly revellers to death so the law was changed to make the industry regulated to help prevent this kind of thing happening again, now days UK bouncers are very professional and are trained how to verbally diffuse potentialy volatile situations and in proper restraining techniques instead of beating the crap out of drunks, this change is def for the better imo
