Superman
Just saw it last night, i thought it was frigging awesome!!! i love the old supermans, and i think this one holds up to them. Cristopher Reeves did a great clark kent, and this guy did a pretty good job at recreating the geekyness that reeves made so famous. I saw it at IMAX in Manhattan, nothing like a 3D 4 story screen!!!! ohhh yea!!!

I guess I'm going to be the debbie downer of this thread cause I completely disagree. I saw it Sunday and thought it was horrible in the sense of being the next gen of Superman. Major fundamental flaws and just bizarre writing by Singer. 1st... what's the deal with Metropolis? Do they have any black people living there? It should have been called Whitetropolis... I honestly don't think I saw 1 black person in the entire movie... 2nd.. why was there zero reference to anything American..direct quote from the movie "truth, justice and all that stuff"....all that stuff??? what the ****....Are they so concerned about the box office returns over seas that they did that shit on purpose??? 3rd..he has a kid?? give me a ****ing break... how distracting to bring that into the story..so let me get this straight...Superman, who stands for everything good and ethical had a kid out of wedlock and is a peeping Tom....I love the line when Lois asks "will we see you around".... yeah, apparently every other weekend and alternating holidays?!?!?! lolololol.... To me that film was just a complete disgrace and IMO its a sin that they have signed on Singer for the next 3 Superman movies....

For an old superman fanboy like myself (I'm talking about the comics, not the movies) I was very pleased to see the new movie. In my opinion, Brandon Routh does a WAY better job than Christopher Reeve.
I don't think it was neccesarily Reeve's fault, he was just playing his role as the script was laid out, but the old movies had too much comedy and goofy'ness in them, and this is very far from what the comics were ever about. And putting an overly clownly actor like Richard Pryor in Superman III was just too much, it completely ruined the spirit of the movie and made it into a failed parody of a comedy.
But the new Superman movie is more on the track of the original comic books, just as the newest Batman movie captured the gloom and dark side of the original Batman comics.
I think the story in Superman Returns could have been better, but I salute the way the writers captured the spirit I missed in all the other movies.

from wikipedia:
"Promotional images for Spider-Man 3 have confirmed that Spider-Man will have the black symbiote costume in this film. Topher Grace has also been confirmed as Eddie Brock. Sony has confirmed that Venom will appear in this film as the company has released a wallpaper of Eddie Brock transforming into Venom.[2] A special trailer, shown at Comic Con 2006, ended with the first fully CGI rendered Venom dropping onto all fours before the camera zooms in on his gaping mouth. Testimony from those who viewed this say that Venom was exactly like he was in the comics: a large, slobbering creature with his tongue and trademark toothy grin. He has been described as mostly resembling McFarlane's Venom"
i guess it makes sense then as topher is supposed to play a reporter(skinny reporter lol) and then gets mixed up with this mutant gene or whatever...... sounds good.

lol its kinda cool though that tobey mcguire is content with just being spiderman, we havent reallly heard any grumblings about compensation ala michael keaton in batman. kind of refreshing to see him embrace it. and why not? hmmm garaunteed that your movie is going to make over 200 million bucks and you get to make out with kirsten dunst lol!

First off I liked superman Brandon Routh did an excellent Clark Kent. The movie was well done and I love Spacey as a bad guy. I think Spiderman looks cool too Venom was always the coolest so it was a solid idea to incorporate him.
