How many people start classes this week?
Transfered to a 4 yr as a junior. Hate the first day back, longest day of the year. Worst is when the professor makes you go around the room and introduce yourself.. i say the dumbest things in the world like "hi, im in your class, well.. nice chattin with you!! (because you got like 25 other people you have to say hi to)"
What is the motivation behind this though? Maybe im just complaining but anytime im forced to interact with someone my 'judgment' switch goes on and i look for reasons not to get along with them.. am i just unfriendly or is anyone else like this? I personally think teachers just do it to waste time.. seriously, if i really want to meet you let me do it on my own g/damn time..

I started like 2 weeks ago...and I hate those little games teachers play. We did it in one of our small classes to waste time and we had to say something unique about us and i just said nothing

yeh i think im gonna say "i dont pay good money to introduce myself to random strangers" teach damnit!!!! I WANY MY MONEYS WORTH!!!!!!
it really just seems like an akward waste of time.
i understand stretching your 'comfort zone' but when someone makes you do it has the complete opposite effect imo.
and you people start at weird times. 2 weeks ago so early and the 25th is so late, most schools around here start right after labor day (or just the schools i know)

We started the 28th. This is my problem, my first name is Dan, or Daniel. Every freakin prof. on the first day calls out "Danielle ____, is there a Danielle _____?" and I have to correct them every time, and everytime, someone has to snicker like it's soooo funny they just pronounced it the girl way. Ha ha ha real funny.

Man Im glad I dont have to go to college again.
up untill 9th grade I always got 93-98% in EVERYTHING, and that shit was so easy and boring I just gave up, studied 2 weeks before barely made the passing grades and spent my time reading about really interesting stuff.
went 1 year to college, same thing again, I thought it would be different but got A's 7/8 classes then I started doing the same thing again.
Hopefully by next year Ill be in the Navy preparing for the SEALS.
All of us who quit college should get a t-shirt:
"I have resisted all efforts and have not allowed my will to be broken by my teachers in order to prepare me to submit to my corporate masters."

I have never had any professor ask my name or made us introduce ourself to eachother.
I detest that kind of bullshit and Im glad we dont have that kind of crap over here. Im not there to socialise, I am there to learn and I dont care about anyone else in the class unless I know Im going to take alot of classes togheter with them. I would be pissed of if a professor wasted important time on introductions.
Seems like there is alot of differences betwen university educations in the states and in europe. Sports teams, campus areas, sororities, fraternities and so on. We dont have those kinds of things in sweden.
Another thing you guys in the states has to take classes outside of your main subject right? If you study chemistry for instance you are still forced to take english and other irrelevant(to you) classes?
Ohh yeah I started class today. Advanced classical mechanics, on wensday atomic physics starts.

The hardest part is always to find someone good to study with. Either they are geniouses and you waste there time when they have to explain shit to you or they are stupid and you waste your time explaining shit to them. Or they are lazy and isnt willing to spend the 8 hours a day minimum requries.
Its SO hard to find someone on a equal level and with similar work ethic that is also a nice dude/dudette to study with. So far during my university days I have only found one such guy during the spring this year.

I started last monday. I like college, I just hate the crazy workload that comes with it.
College gets in the way of my college.

Yeh i dont know why it seems like i always get screwed. But I have a little theory why. NJ is the most populated state in the US so that would = schools most densly packed with students (which they are) and a lack of truley experienced or qualified teachers.
I try not to complain about my professors but a lot of them have sucked ass royally. The amount of projects i had to do last semester alone were ridiculous. Students dont pay attention, dont get tested on it, and you waste a crapload of time presenting shit noone cares about.
Best teacher i had was my history teacher who was so ENTHUSIASTIC!!! ABOUT!!! EVERYTHING!!!! loaded with knowledge, didnt have time to waste, and was funny. Just seems like a lot of professors now in days are new, boring, or just not qualified to be teaching period. Ok well meeting my teachers tommorow!!! cya guys.

hah in between classes right now. i actually am lovn it right now. HUGE difference from the crappy 2 year community school i just graduated from. the girls here seem more mature (just a bit) yet at the a little shyer and more reserved.
gtg back to class now than get a fvckn parking permit before they write my ass a ticket. later guys!!
