-

if Jay's are raviolli then what are Coleman's, a bucket of mud?
-
10-01-2006, 12:09 PM #7
no coleman's just have that incredibly weird space in the middle of them
-
10-01-2006, 12:10 PM #8
and the ab pose is actually a combination with thigh and if you factor that in ronnie wins it
-

jay should not have won. end of story

i'd have to disagree even w/ the legs, they're pretty well matched in leg size but i prefer the striations which are very visible in jay's legs over ronnie's veiny look.

although ronnies legs are huge....they lack seperation & striation. his GH gut is a nightmare & has finally caught up to him. Toney freeman has made some huge leaps recently. jonny jackson has great shape & condition. victor is the next champ.dexter deserves to be higher(somehow). branch was terrible. gustavo was a dissappointment. anyone else?

i thought jays back (size) was very impresive?they all deserve the win it was just jays time to shine

lol, u dont need to get angry. i think its just more fun to debate who won wht pose and such, (i thought tht was the point b/c of the link above) instead of just stating tht the wrong choice was made. i wouldnt say anyone in the comp looked like "absolute shit in every sense of the word" cause they are the best in the world. so wht would tht make the rest of us. I personally think ronnie's bi's beat pretty much everybody, and his lat spread (middle of his back is just out of this world) but jay's abs i think are better (not sure wht ppl even mean "ravioli abs"). i also prefer jays hams and i wasnt as impressed by ronnie's back double bi this year (judging by the link above), i thought jay's looked harder.

damn i dont no much about how they judge in bodybuilding but looking at those the only pose i say jay looks better is the front-a**ominals.... big ron absouletly destroys him in most muscular and back poses... ronnies arms are amazing and have so many cuts, veins, and striations to them while jays have some cuts but thats about it.... RONNIE IS BIGGER,MORE RIPPED, AND MORE STRIATIONS.... how does he LOSE????? I guess i dont get bodybuilding

Ronnie did look 100% better Friday night than he did Sat night, so between that and his retarded routine, he lost

How can anyone look at those comparisons of Ronnie and Jay and actually say that Jay looked better? I really don't understand it.
Great site, BTW.

They are all great, Ronnie won 8 times Jay one once. Get over it, if they look like shit then get your ass on stage.
Just sad that people talk this way about the Pros.

Ronnies back doesnt look bigger in the back double bi because they caught him when his lats were squeezed together and he had not flared it forward yet..

Jays back and calves are definatly better than Ronnie's...other than that I don't know...the most muscular poses give Jay the edge I think too.

ruhl looked great this year. everybody knew it was down to cutler/coleman, so it was kind of either/or choice. look at the size of johnnie jackson's traps in the most muscular pose. rediculous!

C Bino - Great link dude! Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us on AR!!
To everyone else on this thread - take a step back, take a deep breath and let's get some perspective.
Sure, we all favor a particular bodybuilder over another (or others), but that doesn't mean that we can't be more polite in our critiques.
Ronnie Coleman is a great bodybuilder. The guy tied Lee Haney for most Mr. O wins. Unreal size combined with conditioning and muscle maturity for sure! However, it would seem that Ronnie's weaknesses (distended a**omen, linea alba separation, large obliques, small calves relative to his quad mass, etc.) along with a potential torn tricep contributed to his loss. In many of the pics, especially the side tricep, Coleman's tricep seems to have literally disappeared. I read rumors of a lat tear, but Ronnie's back is so massive I can't spot it. The guy is 43 years old and he's been lifting insane poundages in conjunction with many years of AAS cycles. A man's body can only take so much. In my most humble opinion, he has done many great things for the sport of bodybuilding and I think he's deserved a well-earned rest. No matter what Ron decides, he has earned the respect that an 8 time Mr. O deserves.
Next to Arnold, Jay Cutler has always been my favorite bodybuilder. I am hard pressed to think of any other bodybuilder who has made as much continuous improvement as Jay has done each and every year. I'm ecstatic that he won the Mr. O and I hope he carries on in the traditions of Ronnie and the other Mr. O's. That said, Jay has his work cut out for him. Victor Martinez was looking really good. Dexter, although short, is nothing short of amazing. Other elite bodybuilders will also continue to improve and rise to the challenge.
Finally, commenting as to a pro bodybuilder looking like shit is unnecessary and disrespectful. I've said this in other threads and I'll repeat it here: Less than .01% of the human population has what it takes to make it as a professional bodybuilder. These guys, no...GLADIATORS sacrifice everything in their lives for a year just for those few hours of a show. I'd say they've earned a large measure of respect, especially from a bunch of guys on an AAS forum. So let's all show some humility and class. The show's over and a new Mr. O has been crowned. We can agree to disagree, but let's do it as men.
That said...
Congratulations Jay Cutler, 2006 Mr. O Champion!!
