Any Maiden fans out there!
When I was a teen in the eightees, I was big into the metal scene. One of my favorite groups was Iron Maiden. I remember it was a common view - that picture of the maiden mascot "Eddy" on a stoner's jean jacket. Although I'm not a big fan of metal anymore, till this day, I can still listen to Maiden and I often do to pump myself up for a grueling leg session. I love their speed and I love Bruce's operatic voice! They are coming to the Nassau coliseum this thursday and I'm going to go which I'm excited about. I haven't been to a concert in over a year (the last one was the pixies who are a cool grunge band). Maiden baby! Maiden!

Eddy rules and I'm afraid of the dark too.

I used to like em but I got more and more into heavier and heavier music.
My musical taste evolved pretty much like this:
led zeppelin
aerosmith
iron maiden
metallica
pantera
slayer
deicide
dying fetus

I agree with you on that. On the other hand, there's something to say about the simple, raw, and the heavy. But in terms of musicianship, Zep and Maiden are respectworthy.

Have you seen MAIDEN latly, if you havent its not the same they dont look as metal as the once did. but their music still blows me away I love it. I saw them over the summer at PNC BANK ARTS CENTER and it was awesome. You'll have fun.

I've never seen them live so this is a first time. Actually, I did see them live (on VH1 I think) and they sounded great. They have shorter hair and they look a little matured but damn, that bruce can belt! Yeah, I'm definately looking forward to the show. It's been a while since I've seen a good concert.

I, like Skullsmasher, went heavier. Started with stuff like early Anthrax and Metallica (whom I can't stand now) and moved on to Pestilence, Death, Deicide, Bolt Thrower (my faves at the moment) and everything inbetween. I was never a fan of Iron Maiden, I always thought of them as a bit of a joke, BUT I do like their new album. There are one or two quite good songs on there.

I haven't heard their new stuff. I like their old stuff though. I love that song from powerslave...."you die as you live in a flash of the blade....one man and his honer! I still think he has his voice. At least I thought so from footage of a recent live concert.
