Watch video from pc on my tv?

I know this is possible im just not sure how to do it. Basically I DL alot of movies and i hate sitting at my pc to watch them. Do i need a video card with an S video output and just run a wire from that to my tv? or is it more compicated?

You just need a video card with a s-video cable out. Run the s-video cable to your TV, and you can watch it. The sound will still come out of your computer speakers though, unless your sounds card has composites out.

I have a composite adapter, and run the sound through my suround sound speakers.

its definately cheaper to get a video card with s-video out....but there are also converter boxes from vga to s-video conversion, not to mention countless do it yourself boxes using radio shack parts...but its by far cheaper and les of a pain in the ass to just buy a new one....you can get one that will just play your movies and stuff for less than 50bucks, hell probly less than 35bucks on new egg

note: there are cheaper cards that are agp, but for simplicity i just picked out a pci card as almost everyone has a free pci slot or two
    that'll git-r-done

Like said above, the easiest way is to buy a video card with a S-video out. Your card may have one already. Then run a S-vid cable between the comp's vid card and the TV.

I run mine like that, and have no problem.
