Great design, but why you'd want to obscure that body, I'll never know.

Good friend of mine has a lot of tattoos and his tattoo artist's rule-of-thumb was not to work out the body part in question for as long as he still had to coat it with antibiotics. What is that, a week or two?

Good luck under the needle. Jameson's helps, I've heard.

thats nice man, how many hours did that take, how many sittings. keep the scab soft, try to avoid cracking and breaking it as much as possible. or you will have to touch up. which isnt really a problem, just hassle.

Bro take it from me. I haev 4 tattoo's and all of which are on my forearms, wrist area. I trained the very same day I got them done. Doesnt make a difference at all. I mean dont be a moron and do bench press if you get a tattoo done on your back, ya know what I mean. But hell they told me to lay off biceps cuz it would fold and stretch the skin on my wrists etc...bullshit. Besides someone like you will have great form on their sets anyways so I dont think you have to worry about stretching anything.

Bad advice bro. Why would you want to keep the scab soft? Its a scab like if you cut yourself so why would you ever want it wet or soft, you want it to stay dry as possible to let your skin get to healing better and faster.

I let two of mine get wet and showered and everything and they had to be redone. When I let the others completely heal and didnt even get them wet in the shower they turned out much better. I mean think about it, when you cut your leg open and it scabs do you keep it soft? Hell no. Its the same thing.

I have my entire left pec done and I went and worked my chest/triceps the day I got tattooed. I sat three different sittings on my chest and it didnt slow me up a bit. just didnt do exercises that would interfere or I would make sure they didnt touch my chest.

I have always been told to keep my tattoos relatively moist(avoid drying out), some scabbing may be inevitable, that depends on alot of things, your body type and if the artist is heavy handed or has to go over the area time and time again in the same sitting. I think the biggest reason to keep it moist is cause people will have a tendency to pick their scabs and if it is too deep when you pick your scab it will be deep enough to pull ink too. Atleast thats what common sense tells me. But there may be other reasons I do not know.

The aftercare I follow for a tattoo is:
-keep the wrap on for 4-6 hours, wash thoroughly re-apply A&D ointment(very thing coat).
-wash tattoo and re-apply A&D ointment 3 times a day until scabbing/flaking is gone(the A&D is to be used as a very very thing coat so the body can still breath)
-after the flaking(for me 4-5 days) apply a lotion with little to no fragrance, Curel has always worked well for me.

I have over 30 hours of tattoo work and the touch ups that were necessary were from me picking them.

My chest and feet I made sure not to pick them and I took care of them exactly like I stated above and I didnt need any touch ups, feet and chest are about 12 hours worth of work.

C_Bino I understand where you are comming from and letting it dry, makes sense to me. I am sure there are many different ways for them to heal. All I know is I follow that aftercare and it works very well for me.

yeah man keep it soft. its ok to let little ones dry out and peel, but something of your size will crack easily. i have 2 quite large ones and was told to avoid letting it crack up.
my first one is a bit buggered from where i was pulling it abit.

I lifted the next day after getting my delt and upper arm tatted. I just wore a wife beater to make sure it didnt rub.
    Good Luck!

Ya bro of course, probably wont make that big of a deal when all is said and done. And I agree that the main reason some people probably tell us to keep it moist is to avoid us picking at it. But I just didnt pick at mine, it got itchy AS HELL but I just figured whatever whats a couple days outta my life where it itches.

I mean like I said prolly not a big deal, but I have done it both ways and now will always let it dry and heal without getting it wet or soaping it up.

I do clean the piss out of it as soon as I take the bandages off for the first time but then not again until its healed, I just apply Tattoo Goo on it 4 timse a day or so.
