YAY...I was getting bored... objectifying women debate... here is the classic debate. Why a debate you ask? Because there are 2 very different beliefs about it.

belief one which is the one that is most predominant and the one bigbouncingballs has...which is that it objectifies women. And demeans them and all that. That's cool and you'll find dozens of psychologists who agree.

But the 2nd one is just as logical and just as backed by psychologists...this behavior does not objectify women in the way you think. They are not being seen as objects of meat for your sexual pleasure in there eyes. They are showing there confidence in themselves and demonstrating there power over the hundreds of men who come and go every day just to experience a whiff of that female essence and guile that seems to flow from the scent glands of the fairer sex.

So the question is never as easy as "does it objectify women" it is what does it mean to you and what does it mean to them. So the problem here would be...why DO YOU objectify women who work at places like this as pieces of meat ... as a concubine made for reproduction. The problem is not with the place, but with the person

Funny thing is...I simply went into detail on the side which is less predominant in this thread... had it been the opposite...I would have supported the opposite more. That's why it's such a great debate.

I agree with you. Women dont work at Hooters because they are forced. Women dont work at strip clubs because they are forced.

Anyone who works at Hooters, may as well call themself a stripper.

I don't like that place except for the wings.

I'm thinking I should open a restaurant and call it "Peckers"

if there were a restaurant where gusy went around w/o there shirt or wut not... i'm sure it'd be ok with most people... since the negative stigma isn't there for guys. (not agreeing with it.. just stating it)

But my son got a little too excited, his mouth started watering and just had to reach over and well you look at the picture......

power is not in the objectifier as you would like me to believe. you ask why i objectify women in such a place as pieces of meat. let me reiterate, who regrets what ten years down the road. stripping, sex for money, whatever, is immediately empowering. however, that hardly lasts, and is a significant toll taken later on in life.

Get a grip guys!! They're Hooters girls, not strippers or prositutes. They are basically waitresses that wear low cut tops and have massive tits. BIG DEAL!!

i know of plenty of male strippers that feel just as dirty later in life. the negative stigma is universal, not gender related. the double standard is hyped but the stigma is still seething just below the surface.

I can't believe you think these girls will go on to become strippers! And how many girls do you see out, especially in the summer, wearing tops with it all busting out. Heaps. I guess they're all strippers as well

I didn't say they would BECOME strippers. If you're going to make a point, make sure you READ. I said they might as well BE strippers. So, in other words, they're wearing skimpy clothing, and in return, getting paid....kind of like a stripper.

Um, no. I don't need to work in a restaraunt wearing nearly nothing and get paid probably more than they do AND I have a real rack. That's all thanks.
