    james brown died

just heard that the godfather of soul died early this morning.
pretty shitty day to go, for his family.
watched him recently on tv, and he looked exactly like he did 20 years ago.

He was the best. I remember his shows back in the early 70's in Miami
where I was a bartender. I make the crowd go wild. They would put a
cape on him and he was escorted off stage, only to break away and
return exhausted and this would go on for about 15 min. RIP

Who cares? You know how many soldiers are gonna die in Iraq today? I don't see any 2 page stories on them.

That isn't the point Ab. My point is that everyone makes a big deal out of James Brown dying when we won't here anything about the 6 soldiers that die on Christmas day in Iraq. This is what you will see:

"6 Marines were killed when a roadside bomb exploded outside a market in Iraq. In other news, singer james Brown died at a local hospital this morning from complications................................"
rambling on for another 5 minutes about all his accomplishments and what not.

Yes, it sucks that he died, but good people die every day and we shouldn't celebrate just the rich and famous ones

I see where he's coming from with this, but they cannot say anymore than "6 soldiers died today in Iraq" due to military policy and legalities.

I understand what you totally saying.

You have to realize that with art and entertainment, there is ALLWAYS going to be bigger media attention. Soldiers, Police Officers, Fireman, etc.. are the mean/women who dont get the highlights they derserve. It comes with their territory though. Unsung heros.

James Brown was a muscial & media icon. What he did for the music industry was phenominal. There is music today that wouldnt be herd if it wasnt for the sound of James Brown. He was revalutionary in what he did and gets credit for that.

Oh shit! That was you? I'm at my bf's house. He was going to answer because we thought it was a wrong number. I didn't know the number so I didn't answer. I'll call you back.
