Need Help With First Vehicle!!!
Okay, okay, so I finally got off my lazy ass and went down and took my permit test, I passed (common sense questions pretty much)... I've been driving a lot with my dad and it's fun. Okay, so now I'm looking for a vehicle, preferably a truck. I've been looking on craigslist and I found one that caught my interest. It was a Chevy s10... It's a 98 with 80k miles on it... extended cab, v6, third door, good condition, clean history, etc. So... What do you guys think? I hear a lot of good things from s10's, like their a good work truck and will put out for you (unlike most women)... So what do you guys think?

If your looking for a work truck, I would go dodge. Get a '98 cummins probly for what you would get the S10 for
If you don't mind 0 power, get the S10, my friend has one on a 2 inch lift with 32's...thing is a rattle box and slow.

Well, I pretty much believe I want a truck. Something around 5k... Reliable, hopefully gets some good gas mileage, but looks cool too... For me, I'd use it just locally to go to work, workout, friends, etc. Maybe occasionally do a road trip with friends, ionno...

then you might as well go with like S10,Ranger,Frontier. Easy enough.

My brother had a s10 with a four cylinder. That thing was a dog. probably a good starter thou. just don't plan on towing any thing with it if it is a four cyl.

are you sure you're 19? why the hell are you just now getting your permit?? It takes a year in most states after you get your permit before you get your licens so that means you'll be at least 20 by the time you get to drive yourself. This doesn't seem right to me...
Well my 1st car was a '97 Ford Ranger and it has treated me really well. It has been extremely reliable and we've been through a lot together. I bought it with like 120,000 miles and now it has 180,000. I'm 19 now and I got it @ 17.

I wouldn't buy a vehicle that I couldn't test drive first. Find one localy, test drive it, and find out how it feels.
Also, if you are not mechanically inclined, it's a good idea to have a shop check it out first.

S10's are pretty reliable. The 4.3L motors are good, and have a large aftermarket.
Definately try one out first though. Look through your local paper, and take one for a test drive. See how it handles, and if you like the features of the vehicle.
