feedback off my computer, wtf?

I keep getting a loud, highpitched sound off my computer when I put it down in a certain way. if the edge of the laptop is protruding from the edge of the table it screeches.....

you know when a mic gets too close to speakers and it makes that highpitched sound thats kinda painful? it does that, wtf is causing this does anyone know? I can't figure it out.

i googled it but no luck, any help would be appreciated, its bizarre

I just turned mic volume off and it sorted it out....for like 4 hours it was bugging the hell outta me tho.
