1300?????? it depends on how old and the shape of them. I had access to a welding machine so I made my own squat rack. I when to the gym with a tape measure and some paper.

As for flooring, I just had some rubber mats in one small 12X12 area. So I could drop the wieghts.

You can find those puzzle type mats on the net

bro i sell this stuff for a living. The price for db's is a rip off. Let me know what area you live in i can maybe point you to a good dealer. Also let me know what stuff your looking at and ill tell you what you should pay. Do not pay what they ask or what is tagged. Everything is negotiable.

i always think that if i were to set up a home gym it would have:

    squat rack w/safety catches
    flat/incline/decline bench
    dumbells
barbell w/ around 500lbs of plates
    PULLUP BAR
    dipping station

everything you need really, as the time passes more can be added, more weight plates, equipment etc

As for the flooring, stay far away from Pergo. I put in a cheap carpet and then spent a lot of money on the rubber mats. Pergo is just junk and a pain in the ass to replace.
