My female rott was medium sized. She was the runt of the litter. She weighed about 60 lbs when we got her, she had been beaten and starved and was found running stray. Then we loved her and fattened her up to about 85lbs, which was good for her size. Don't let her size fool you, she was incredibly strong.

We have a min pin who ROCKS!! and we just got a yorky/shitzu mix who right now as a puppy is a TERROR. We're hoping her dispostion changes soon because she bites the min pin and provokes her (the min pin would kill her) but i def recommend a min pin, the mut is cute but right now is satans puppy.

I live in an apartment with a large balcony and have a Parsons Jack Russell. Sensational dog - smart as, but does need to be walked regularly. Was a terror as a pup - chewed everything in sight, but he is 4yrs old now a terrific dog. Great companion.

For me a "condo or appartment" dog whould have to be a small "whooly" dog (no shedding).

My kid has a mutt at his moms, it's a mix between a bichon maltais and a yorkshire terrier... great little playful dog.

I know you're looking for a smaller dog, but our Rhodesian Ridgeback is the shiznit. He's 5 years old now and a great companion. He was a chewer for the first couple of years, but is so easy-going he's a joy to have around. He's about 105-100lbs, although he's a bigger Ridgeback. He's not a really exercise needy dog, and is happy to have 2 or 3 walks a day, and can chill out the rest of the time. I think he's beautiful too.
