probably a controlled detenation, but still explosions are cool as hell, no other way to explain it. and i'm not going in depth talking about people dying in explosions, i'm just saying that explosions are awesome to watch in the same way people like to watch fireworks. thats some fvckin power there.

but seriously, im OBSESSED with shockwaves. i go into binges when i see them on the net. when i was young i made some homemade acetox/ammonium nitrate and stuck it in a porta jon.
me and my friends had no idea what would happen but we lit the fuse (it was connected to a short cigarette delay) and ran our asses off. we got about 100 yards at least before we stopped and just stood there.
it was the COOLEST thing till this day ive ever seen and felt in my life.

the whole roof literally catapulted up into the trees and shatter in a bunch of pieces while the sides blew out and all you see is just a white flash (no fire really)

like a half second later the shockwave hit us but it didnt knock us down, just made me regain my footing. But the feeling of a wall of air rushing into you at that speed is the CRAZIEST feeling in the world. The adrenaline in my body literally exploded at that second and we ran faster than cheetahs to not get caught. BUt ill never forget how the grass slanted and my ears popped and it felt like a ghost was trying to tackle me. Crazy shit. We were like 16 at the time and VERY dumb.

jesus, some of those shockwaves where the ground just ripples up and the houses are blown apart in a split second are unreal. and think of how much more powerful the nukes we have today are. i almost hope we nuke a country just so we can record the explosion.

Just for the record nukes don't explode, they implode. They implode so violently that the reaction appears to be an explosion, but it is just the violent physical reaction from the implosion.

And truthfully, it is perverse.

fat man was an implosion triggered nuke and little boy used the gun-type method which is now considered obsolete to the US. even with the implosion method there is first some explosions from the explosive lenses which create the implosion of the uranium or plutonium which then causes a huge nuclear EXPLOSION!!! so the violent physical reaction from the implosion really is a huge explosion.

It's the physics theory for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. The US has just granted a new development -- unproven and untested -- in the design of nuclear weapons. A hybrid design that nuclear scientists are charging that is highly irrational and unthought out.

what exactly are you talking about, staged thermonuclear weapons (hydrogen bombs) because the exact way they work has never been declassified?

No, but it was in the news very recently. The Bush admin said they were going to refit the aging US nuclear stockpile and chose two designs for doing it. One was the 'standard' design and the other was an unproven hybrid design that incorporated untested theories that meant the US would have to start underground testing in contravention to no testing treaties.
