    9lbs in 4 1/2 days. I feel like CRAP =[

OK its like this. I've tried a nice balanced diet with cardio and my weight/fat refuses to go down. I was 175 4 1/2 days ago.
Today I stepped on the scale and Im 166.

I know this goes against what many advise. But I started a food diary and have been limiting my caloric intake to 600 calories a day and have been working out and doing cardio as normal almost ed. + school and work.

Thing is I feel like CRAP. Im walking around dragging my feet, noticed my bp has been fluctuating like crazy. Than today I stood up from a seat and I got really light headed and felt like I was gonna tip over. I realized at that point this is NOT a smart diet (which I previously was aware of anyway)

I WANT to quit this diet, but its actually working.
I know I'll lose some muscle but I cant stand not having a six pack. Its been like 2 years since I had one. (when i was at 154)

So has anyone else done these suicide diets? I know its not anorexic like (where they eat like 50 calories a day) but I cant believe how quick Im slimming down. And thats the only thing keeping me moving through the dizzy spells and what not.

Anyone had success with these types of diets? I figure once I slim down Ill jack up my protein intake and restore lost muscle. I just wasnt losing weight otherwise so this is my last resort.

Today I had halfcup oatmeal in the morning, protein shake after i worked out, and than im planning something small for dinner.

    Any thought, comments, concerns appreciated.

I'm 5'4". I dont have the genetics to get big. Most I can do is get ripped and maintain a decent amount of muscle. I tried bulking all winter. Had my diet on point, was busting my ass in the gym. And you could barely notice a difference.
I just like the way I looked when I had the slim/ripped look better. So I said fvck it, Im going all out.

From the sounds of it you need to brush up on the dieting knowledge bro. 600 is ridiculous...I cut while taking in about 2700 cals per day, which enables me to lose about one lb a week while maintaining muscle.

You're gonna sacrifice your hard earned muscle for a quick fix in the weight loss dept?

I have 20 weeks worth of test that i plan on dividing into 2 cycles.
But I refuse to start poking untill I have a *lean muscle base.

If I can drop 20 pounds in a couple weeks. Than I'll spend the next month or 2with a high protein/low carb diet, maybe put on 5-8 lbs of muscle. Which is prob what I will lose from this diet.
Than I'll have a lean base to build on, I'll up my intake a bit more and start poking.

See the thing I personally believe is between the ages of 17-22 i used LOTS of stimulants, including ampthetamines. (was like 135 back than)
And before I really got into stimulants I naturally had a fast metabolism.
Around 22 I decided I wanted to drop the whole skinny slighty ripped look and beef up. I've spent 2 years now and have literally put on like 10lbs muscle + another 10-15 lbs of fat.

Now Im 24 and my metabolism seems to have literally crashed. Back in the day I could eat ANYTHING and it never showed, now in days everything goes to my stomach. I HATE it. I refuse to take stimulants anymore. I just dont know, think I f**ked my metabolism up.

600 calories is STUPID! PLAIN STUPID!
    STOP YOUR DIET NOW!
You should NEVER EVER limit your DAILY caloric intake to a level that is so low.
Reduce your caloric intake by about 500 calories under your maintenance level. See how that goes.
Example if you require 3000 calories per day to maintain your current weight, drop it to 2500 calories. Increase your protein and fat intake and slightly decrease your carbohydrate intake.
You really should know better than that Bojangles, you've been around long enough.

I know its stupid, but from what I SEE, its working, and even though Im losing weight I look bigger because my muscle doesnt seem to be decreasing at this point.(yet at least)

you may think less is better, but its actually going to be counterproductive. Your body will go into starvation mode and hold on to any food you give it. Your metabolism will slow to nothing. You'll burn muscle for fuel...

Not a smart thing to do at all..

so your planning on eating 600 cals forever?
why don't you list your diet (before the 600 cals/day) and up the cardio split twice/day? I'm almost certain you can cut on 1,600+ cals/day.

    ahhhh still 1600 wtf.

cardio is where I lose weight..no matter how low my cals are. I see no point in dropping below 2500. Well for me anyway..for 166lbs I wouldnt drop below 2000-2200

I may run it for a few more days, Im not sure. It dont like how flighty and moody Ive been lately.
So I may need to do some serious regrouping this weekend and figure out something more intelligent. But that 9lbs was a HUGE start for me.

I just got this boost of motivation and I think Im taking it out the wrong way.

You are in starvation mode dude. As soon as you start eating again, the weight will come back. I am 5'4" as well at around 167 when I started cutting a little while back. I am now down to 158 as of this morning and I am stronger than when I started cutting. I have tinkered with the diet many times throughout to get the best results and yes, I did even try ~600 cals a day in the beginning. Sure some weight came off really quick, but then I realized that all of my lifts went to crap and that I was losing strength like a madman. Finally after a couple of weeks on that, the weight loss stopped, as will yours. Then, when I tried upping the cals a bit, the weight came back within a few days. I then tried 1600 cals a day and that didn't even work too well as I was still not cutting up. For the past several weeks, I have been doing 1900 cals a day carb cycling and it is amazing. I am losing 1-2 lbs a week and my strength is going up every single workout. If you want to starve yourself, whatever, we might not be able to change your mind, but I guess you will have to learn the hard way.

Bo during my college wrestling season I dropped to 500 cals a day. Are you gonna lose weight? Yes. Are you gonna feel like crap? Yes. Is it healthy? No. I wont go into on the bored but I ended up in the hospital and scared the shit out of my parents. If you want to here the whole horror story, pm me.

Yep..it gets to a point where its counterproductive to drop carbs more..theres a point of diminishing returns

Goes to show ppl can spend so much time on here and not learn a damn thing.. why do we even bother wasting time helping people.

Yeh I couldnt take it anymore. I literally was walking to class today after work and felt like I had a hard time breathing which I've never experienced before, like I had asthma or something, it was scary.
So I walked to the student center and got a protein bar.
Than I've upped my calories today to 1200.
I know its still low but Im gonna hold it here for another few days and really hit the cardio hard the next few days.
Its amazing how my face has thinned out, but I am being ignorant.
I will up my calories to a healthy amount once I cut off at least 5 more lbs.

Than Im gonna redo my entire diet.
I thought I had everything at least 95% on point, but the more I read the lower that percentage drops lol.

The interesting thing is you hit a certain point where your appetite literally disappears. I was having bad hunger pains day 1 & 2 but by day 3 the thought of eating made me a bit nautious. I can't explain it. Maybe I had a streak of anorexia, who the fvck knows?
