Competing and tattoos::: are they a bad move?

what do you guys think when it comes to multiple tattoos when you are trying to compete.. i mean nothing large that would hide any definition or anything, but just small things, tribals, ect.

Plenty of guys compete with tats but I think the consensus would be that you wouldnt want to have anything that would cause the judges to look at your tatts and not you.

dorian yates had pro england type tattoos on his arms from his skinhead days and he made it to olympia,so unless they cover your whole face or something i really wouldnt worry about it

as long as they don't take away from your aesthetics and symetry, but I know when I competed, they were frowned upon, I think they are more accepted now

I regret getting mine.....both shoulders and back of neck going to middle of my spine all in red and black look pretty cool but i regret doing it now

when I did that competition I only had the one armband, now I have both shoulders and upper back....I probably wouldn't do well competing now as I think it takes away from my shoulder definition

as far as tats/competing I think its really hard to see tats after all the tanning and protan. Lee Priest did well at the ironman last year and hes got all kinds of dumb crap.

yeah he was a birmingham skin(england) and my brother in law remembers days he used to try and kick off against the selly oak and harbourne(other skinhead gangs)
bro in law was a doorman at the time and the only black member of the harbourne.lol

but me and chris(bro in law) went to see a paul dillett seminar at the brum institute some years ago now,the guy was a frikkin monster.

I would say thats the LEAST thing to worry about. Having on your face of all places would make the SMALLEST difference in the way you are judged...
