    Angelina Jolie to Adopt Vietnamese Child

    HANOI, Vietnam -- Angelina Jolie has filed papers to adopt a Vietnamese child, the country's top adoption official said Friday.

    A U.S. adoption agency representing the 31-year-old actress filed the papers at Vietnam's International Adoption Agency, said Vu Duc Long, the agency's director.

    "She just filed the papers this week," Long said.

    Jolie and her partner, Brad Pitt, have three children: 5-year-old son Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old daughter Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May.

    Long would not name the U.S. adoption agency working with Jolie, who applied to adopt as a single parent.

    Jolie and Pitt, 43, made a surprise visit to Vietnam at Thanksgiving, when they visited the Tam Binh orphanage, on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.

    Their pictures were splashed across the front page of Vietnamese newspapers, showing the couple cruising around Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike.

    Nguyen Van Trung, the director of the Tam Binh orphanage, declined to comment. He said he was awaiting the papers from the International Adoption Agency.

    Good. We need more people adopting. If you ever lived in a foster home, you'd agree. And our system is way better than theirs.

    I'm all for able, caring families adopting, but what are her reasons for adopting...and what are her reasons for adopting the children she does at her random countries of choice?

    i think it is wonderful that they are doing that. they seem to be very good parents and try to stay under the radar more often then not. Im sure the rewards of giving a child a new life with hope could be the reason why they are doing this. god bless them

    I think she should adopt me. I'm starving, I need to eat every 2 hours or I don't grow. Maybe she will breast feed me.

    Agreed. One day I would love to adopt a child. It's sad there are so many out there without parents

    lay off ange, im in the process of moving to a vietnamese orphanage so she can adopt me . ithink she is working on having her own UN meetings around the dinner table

    That's one language that I just can't stand... its full of acents so one word can mean like five things depending on how you say it... and it just sounds strage...

    But Vietnam is a nice country... Da Nang is a great place to have stuff made in marble.
