I've seen a lot of concerts in my days.....but Metallica was the worst ever. Seriously. And this is coming from a huge Metallica fan. They just didn't have a very good sound in person.

Go see them again they were excellent both times I saw them.

wtf, i feel they sound amazing.
last time i saw them they played the whole master of puppets album plus there normal setlist.

The first time I saw them was at an outdoor raceway with about 60,000 other fans. They opened the show with One, Fire works went off everywere and huge explosions for like 20 minutes. It was awesome then after the fire works there was like a 5 minute pause between that and the music so everybody was on a cliff hanger. But when they hit the first few notes of One everybody in the stadium went nuts. It was so cool, I have goose bumps sitting here writing about it.

Care to state what year you saw them, with that comment it is obvious you did not see them in their prime (91-94)

No ****ing way can anyone say Metallica was bad live from 86-94.

I have seen them 7-8x and met all but Lars.

I always gotta laugh at the term "sold out".

One band that has completely "sold out" is Korn. They have writers come in and tell them what to play etc.. Now that is "selling out" if i have ever heard it.

Metallica just does whatever they want, always have.

well i used the term to describe taking passionate and hard music and suddenly softening up your sound to match the industry.

that is my definition of it. Changing your sound to suite others.

Korn has a few albums i like but for themost part never liked them... although if you ever listen to queen of the damned soundtrack... it's pretty awesome and the music was all written by there lead singer

I'd just prefer a group break up or change names in lou of pantera, instead of making fluff music to get some $ off of today's lame fans who call amy lee metal? I mean jeez. One band sounds the same and the next whiny crap now a days.

The thing is when your a band like Metallica, or any other hard band is that you cant be an angry teenager forever. Listen to the first couple albums when they were teens and young adults and all they talk about is how there life sucks, no girls want them, they have no money, everybody f-cks with them and they just want to die. Case in point the song Trapped Under Ice. A band or song writter cant make the same kind of music their entire life.

great point. progressing and maturing is not selling out.

And IMO that is exactly what they have done.

They have always done what they wanted, take it or leave it. When Fade To Black came out, they "sold out" then too.

Now it is one of their most popular songs.

Even being the biggest Metallica freak ever, St. Anger was downright mother****ing pathetic..i cannot even listen to that ****ing sack of shit ****ing CD.

Plus the bassist guy "Burton?" i dont feel like lookign it up.
anyways he did die, in that bus crash, and he was a big influence in the lyric writing.

After that they turned more political,
than kinda took on a grunge feel, dirty corrupt grunge metal LOL
i havent listned to them since Garage inc.. so no clue on the new albums.
