i dont know why this is such a suprise or outrage to anyone. since i was 5 years old my grandfather used to tell me to watch what i say on the phone. hell i know guys down the firehouse that have a box and listen to all the wirless calls in the town. internet hacks have been reading everything we type for years. why is it such a big suprise that the gov. is doing so? not like its something new. common sense that nothing is secure.

same here, i have always been wary of what is said over the phone, and by email. i often think about what im saying or giving away on this site, as im easy to spot on here, and if someone wanted to get info on me, and new my web habits, id be easy pickings

Nothing is secure, true.
There's no reason why we can't favor politicians that will push for legislation that will ensure that they can't poke into our business willy-nilly.
Of course, doing so will get you branded as an unpatriotic Liberal . . .
