Death At My Job Monday....
Sorry if this is pretty long.
I work at the airport on the ramp in detroit, mich(DTW)
Well at 950pm mon(4.9.07) when they pushed the plane(a330 airbus) out for ***arture , the wing walker disconnected the tow bar from the plane, after walking back from giving the wands back to the push back driver, walked behind the pushback(which is about 6-6.5 ft tall, 7ft wide, about 12ft in length, and weighs 65000lbs) and the driver started backing up to return it to its location... while proceeding to do this the kid was struck from behind and the pushback struck him hard knocking him down and completely ran him over.
Then the driver (whos a friend of mine) told me tonight while he drove me home that he ran up to dorian(kid who died) and told him not to move then looked at his face and said his eye was poped out his head and brain was all over.
IM still so shocked about this and its etremely hard to under stand and believe,OMG I can out the break room to find it all too real and seen the kid(18-19yrs old) laying there while they were putting the deceased blanket over him,scary.. people dont understand how dangerious it is at airports, there are accidents everyday there... i mean shit it could have been me, since i wing walk almost everyday..wow VERY SAD.
I feel so bad for the family and the driver since tonight while he was telling us hes re-signing due to the incident...my heart goes out to the family, friends and the driver( i wouldnt be able to live with myself if i caused someones death.

That's a horrible story, I hate hearing stuff like that. It will make me feel bad all day, I can only image how you feel, seeing deaths face is surreal. I used to lifeguard for years on the beach and I will always remember this one kid(early 20's, my age at the time) did a headstand on the 12th story balcony of the condo behind my lifeguard stand, and went over. He hit the railing of the 9th story on the way down then landed on the concrete feet from the pool. This guy was in really good shape and was on the beach walking on his hands and doing back flips earlier, makes a dumb stupid mistake and paid the ultimate price.

That's very sad, bro.
While my job don't equal up to the airline, it is, however, equally dangerous. In my case, I work for Ca. public transit and while my coworkers and I are working all night fueling buses and driving them to and from their parking locations, there's always drivers and mechanics walking around in the area. Too many times, there's been close calls with us and the drivers because they are too busy talking on their cellphones and not paying attention to the fact that buses are driving throughout the area.
