    Sim Cards?

Shouldn't a cingular go phone Sim Card work in any cingular phone as long as it is unlocked? I just bought an LG CU8500 and I put my Sim card in it and it says "No Network"...or will it not work?

As long as the unlocked phone is GMS it should work on Cingular. Are you sure it's GSM?

    That might be it.

You wouldn't want to use a 3G phone with a pay as you account because Go phones do not include unlimited data. 5-10 minutes of internet access will cost you like $40!

Usually when a HS states "No Network". It is usally bc you have to do a manual network search, it uncapable of finding a signal. With a locked phone, usually it says "Unknown SIM" or "Foreign SIM" or "Blocked SIM" or "Contact Serivce Provider". Of course the jargon differentiates among manufacturers, the fact of the matter is that "No Network" is code for something, Im not certain for LG but I think that is what it means. Contact LGs 1800 number a find out what it means. There is a specific code for a locked phone.

this is what the cat at Cingular told me...he said that the phone specs say it runs at 900,1800 1100 and 1900 frequency level or some shit and Cingular runs at 850 so no matter what Sim I put in it the phone will never work with Cingular...hmmm...interesting. Well I have 48 hours to send it back so oh wel...
